Klarity Easy Fit™ Applications

3.2mm Is ideal for abnormal ton conditions or joint contractures when patients are unable to cooperate.  Its unique qualities make Easy Fit™ perfect for upper and lower extremity positioning splints, and pediatric non-weight bearing AFO's. Controlled stretch and drape provide excellent contouring around bony prominences.

Characteristics

Memory  Moderate memory. Klarity Easy Fit™ will spring back slightly when warm.

RTS  Moderate to maximum resistance to stretch. Can be stretch and pulled around curves without thinning or growing out of control. Able to position limb and aggressively hold and stretch material to form splints.

Drape  Moderate drape. Takes on the contours of the hand for a close fit using only moderate pressure. Thinner material follows the curves of the hand and fingers with minimal handling.

Rigidity  Maximum rigidity. Splints will hold their shape against the pull of strong dynamic components and against hypertonicity.

Surface Finish  Resists fingerprints. Prints and other marks disappear, or can be smoothed away by rubbing the surface gently while the splint is warm. Leaves sealed, smooth edges when cut warm.

Latex Free  Skin friendly and non-irritating. Can be disposed of with normal waste and will biodegrade over time.

Heating and Working Time

Optimum Temperature: 160˚F (70˚C)

Heat in a dry-heat oven or in a waterbath at 160˚F (70˚C) for 1-2 minutes.

The material normally sets in 3-4 minutes, with a working time of 1-2 minutes, depending on thickness.
